I can usually accommodate most appointment time requests; however, my highest availability is during evening hours.
Fees and Insurance Coverage
The fee for psychotherapy services is $120 per session. Sessions are 50 minutes in length. Letter or report writing is billed at the same rate as session fees.
Payment can be made by cash or personal cheque or e-transfer and is due at time of session.
Many extended health insurance plans cover a percentage of the cost of therapy. Please check carefully about what your plan includes. Receipts are issued which may be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement or maintained for your tax record (i.e. tax deductable as a medical expense). Please note that not all extended health care plans cover psychotherapeutic services provided by Social Workers. However, as I offer psychological services under the supervision of Dr. Leigh Karos, C. Psych., my services should be covered by most plans, although I advise you to check carefully with your insurance provider. Further, some insurance coverage requires a doctor’s referral for psychotherapy. Please make sure to check carefully with your insurance provider about any requirements prior to our first session.
It is my policy to collect payment at the end of each session and to provide you with a receipt for services rendered at the end of each session or on an as needed basis.
Because making an appointment means the time will be held for you, it is necessary to have a system for clients to be fair to each other and to me in utilizing the session hours.
Full session fees will be charged for all missed appointments.
Cancellation of appointments requires, at minimum, 24 hours notice. If you fail to provide 24 hours notice, full session fees will be charged.
In the event of emergencies or unusual circumstances, session fees may be waived if an appointment is cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment.
Please note that rescheduling is also regarded as a cancellation.
Please also note that all communication regarding cancellations or rescheduling must happen through either direct telephone communication with me or through a voice message left to me.
